“ By the way, you may hate “advocating that people should have to be protected from their own carelessness”, and I feel exactly the same way. I wish there were fewer laws and a less intrusive government. However, as we can see with the mortgage meltdown, obesity rates, bikers not wearing helmets, Mets fans, etc., people that should know better often ignore what is best for themselves.
